The Milk Board continues to monitor the milk supply in BC and is pleased to report that the fall incentive days were utilized at a rate of 49% to the end of December 2020. All Western Milk Pool provinces have had similar results which has provided adequate milk supply through the fall months.
The technical staff has projected an increasing milk supply moving through the spring which is seasonal for this time of year. As such, the Board will not issue additional incentive days beyond January 2021 for the winter/spring of 2021.
We continue to operate in a unique time with the pandemic dominating retail purchases and the new post CUSMA environment; the Board continues to monitor the milk production requirements and will provide further direction on increases or decreases as required.
