Notice to Producers – Milk Pickup Issues Due to Highway Conditions

Due to the current winter storm conditions ALL Highways into/out of BC Lower Mainland remain CLOSED. This has impacted our ability to pickup milk in the Okanagan and Prince George. The highways department is estimating that Highway 3/5A will remain closed until Saturday morning and Highway 5 will be closed until Saturday January 8th mid-day. All affected producers are being contacted by their transporter. Please note that it is normal practice for the transporter to contact the producer in such cases. BC Milk works with the transporters during these situations to minimize milk pickup interruptions and provides direction to the transporters. We appreciate producers’ patience and understanding when they are contacted that their milk will not be picked up. If you have any concerns, please contact Rob Delage 604-854-4475.
