The BCMMB is aware of current challenges with availability of fluid milk seen across the province this week. The challenges are arising from warehousing issues and are not connected to the off-farm supply of milk. The BCMMB is providing support and working with the processors to assist in resolving the issues and getting back to a steady state of supply for our retailers and customers. We can assure producers that all processor orders are being met and there is no shortage of off-farm milk.
We expect the supply of fluid milk available to consumers to recover each day and mostly be caught up by the end of the week, barring no further setbacks.
