Effective August 1, 2021, the BCMMB changed the over quota production payment policy. Please review the policy below and note the charges relating to over quota milk for the period of February – July.
August 1 – January 31
Production exceeding the 5-credit day maximum, including any applicable incentive days, will receive no payment for over quota milk shipped. All applicable freight charges and relevant deductions will continue to apply as appropriate.
February 1 – July 31
Production exceeding the 5-credit day maximum, including any applicable incentive days, will receive no payment for over quota milk shipped plus a charge of 50% of the current month’s component prices calculated against that Producer’s volume of over quota production. For example, If the BF price was $20/kg and a producer was 10 kg over quota, the producer would be charged $10 * 10 kg for the butterfat over quota. This calculation would be repeated for protein and other solids. All applicable freight charges and relevant deductions will continue to apply as appropriate.
