Production has rebounded and stabilised since the flooding and road closures took place. Overall, the milk supply in BC dropped about 2% as compared to before the crisis which is a very minor amount. The Board is confident that we have plenty of milk supply going into the new year, and our milk supply risk is dependant on road infrastructure opening up and remaining stable. Please keep in mind, we are now moving into a time where market demand is low, but milk production is abundant. The WMP is on a 2-day production restriction in order to maintain balance in the west and BC will need to review when it will reinstate the 2-day production restriction. We don’t expect to reinstate this policy before February 1, 2022 but we will be monitoring the milk supply and processing closely as we move into 2022. We look to your support while we balance the market in the new year.
