S. Dublin Surveillance Program
The Animal Health Centre, along with the BC Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries (MAFF) will be launching a project, supported by BC Dairy Association, to test for and support industry with Salmonella Dublin. To support efficiency of the project, the BC Milk Marketing Board will be providing bulk tank milk samples already used for routine testing from each farm in BC, for testing 4x over the next year.
Producers are encouraged to read the below information on the program provided by the project leaders.
There are no regulatory consequences of a positive bulk tank milk result for S. Dublin, but producers can opt out if they wish. If a producer wishes to opt out of the program, please respond via email by September 27th, 2021 to cfrostgill@bcmilk.com, or direct to the project team at s.dublin@gov.bc.ca.
